1. Shearography NDT is cost effective, mature and widely accepted NDT technology. 2. Shearography NDT offers much faster inspection over traditional NDT methods for composites, honeycomb and foam core panels and structures. 3. Development of new industry NDT std's is critical for acceptance of new technology and for enhanced reliability and safety in new industries. 4. The cost of systems over the years based on improved electronics and software have come in line with newer flaw detection instruments like Phased Array and Module based systems.
