The complexity, nonlinear, fuzziness and dissipativity of interaction system between shearer cutting working mechanism and coal lead cutter cutting load to have obvious characteristic of uncertainty. Quantitative description and chaotic characteristics of cutting resistance curves are studied by application of the fractal and chaos theory; the conditions of coal leap damage are given according to the relation curves between stress and strain of coal, fractal damaged stiffness of coal. From the angle of chaos and fractal, mathematical relations between cutting evaluation index of cutting drive system and chaotic state of system evolution are given; the mathematical model of cutting drive system is found. By simulation, the results show the phase locus has time ergodicity and chaotic characteristic with cutting drive system in different bifurcation parameters, realizing the simulation of chaotic simulating load signal; cutting drive system properties have important significance to develop efficient cutting working mechanism.
