This paper intends to make analytical modeling for the optical fiber sensor for intensity modulation based on curved reflection. Firstly, by applying the principle of the "analytical method" in three-dimensional coordinates, it derives the intensity modulation model with axisymmetric distribution of fiber, and gets the mathematical model Φ; and then, by simplifying the model to the two-dimensional coordinates, and making specific calculation and derivation to this case, we get the intensity modulation mathematical model M; the change curve of ratio of output light intensity along with the effect of change of parameter on the main characteristics of such sensor can be derived by calculating such model. Experiments are conducted for the distances of d = 0.8mm and d = 0.5mm, and the results shows that after the introduction the loss coefficient λ, the modulation function M calculated in two-dimensional simplified way would roughly conform with the actual situation, which demonstrates that the application of the analytical method would establish the proper intensity modulation model for the reflecting surface deformation, and provides a theoretical basis for studying such sensors.
