摘要

We proposed a nonlinear coefficient measurement method for optical fibers which is based on frequency domain response of small signal intensity modulation. This method consists of frequency response measurement at different optical power and numerical calculation based on nonlinear Schroddinger equation. Chromatic dispersion can be also obtained by the calculation. And amount of computation is reduced by small signal approximation. This method is easy to measure, because only dip frequencies of the frequency response are required. We performed the measurement with two types of fibers and compared to results of a previous method based on four wave mixing.
