There is a key disadvantage of the traditional rewards and punishment mechanism based on email sender that will judge the suspected spam as confirmed spam, resulting in some email senders having a miscalculated low reputation score blacklisted by anti-spam gateways and the receivers. Some main email providers such as Gmail, Hotmail, etc., will send the suspected spam to the "junk mail" folder and let users choose whether to view or delete. Suspected spam is the spam that the SpamAssassin score is within the normal email threshold and spam threshold. In real life, however, many users will actively accept some emails in their "junk mail" folder, so this part of the email should not be judged as spam by a rewards and punishment mechanism. In this paper, we will put forward a new reputation mechanism based on email sender to improve the traditional rewards and punishment mechanism. Based on the Tsinghua University email system testing, we confirm that the new method will solve the "allergy problems" caused by traditional rewards and punishment mechanisms and increase the reputation score for some normal email marketing solution providers.
