摘要

In the solid propulsion missile system, C-SiC jet vanes are used to withstand high temperatures for Thrust vector control. As these jet vanes are controlling the missile direction, dimensional and geometrical accuracies and surface finish on external surfaces are very critical in the effective performance of the missile system. The development of machining technology for ceramic composites is a challenging task. It requires reliable and accurate manufacturing procedures to be established to achieve required accuracies on jet vanes. The successful development of economical and productive manufacturing process for C-SiC jet vanes is discussed in this paper.
