EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Fatigue can have disastrous effects when poorly mitigated and managed. Some of the most catastrophic disasters of the modern era have been attributed to fatigue and/or human error. As a consequence, there has been strong impetus to identify and manage fatigue-related risks in industries such as road transport, rail, aviation and mining.
