Structural and Optical Properties of Pure and Doped Triglycine Sulphate Crystal Grown By Slow Evaporation Technique

Single crystals of triglycine sulfate (TGS) pure and a doped crystal were grown by slow evaporation technique by using deionized water as a solvent at room temperature. The first batch included the growing of pure TGS with five different molar concentrations (0.5, 1, 1.25, 1.5 and 2). The largest crystal has the size of (32.37×24×5.11) mm~3, and the lattice constant of the largest crystal were (a= 9.1671?, b= 12.6524?, c= 5.7281?). The second batch included grown of doped TGS crystals with five different molar concentrations of (0.001, 0.003, 0.005, 0.007 and 0.01). The largest crystal has the size of (31.80×23.33×3.91) mm~3. The lattice constants of the biggest crystal were (a= 9.1777?, b= 12.6243?, c= 5.7105?). The structural properties were carried out by XRD technique and found that the grown crystals have a monoclinic structure. Using UV-Vis analysis the optical properties were studied and found that all crystals have a high transparency within the visible spectrum, and the FT-IR spectra have been recorded in the range of (500-4000) cm~(-1).
