Advanced diagnostic tools, improved experimental techniques and potent modeling capabilities have enhanced in the last decades significant performance ameliorations of SOFC single cells and stacks by shedding light on some of the micro-, meso- and macro-scale processes governing solid oxide fuel cell technology. Nevertheless, the ‘experimental’ and ‘modeler’ worlds are too often disjointed and operate not fully aware of each other.
