We propose measurements of fluctuation observables, which are sensitive to the chemical freeze-out of the matter produced in heavy-ion collisions, in order to discriminate a potential flavor-specific behavior of light and strange quarks at the QCD confinement transition. This complements our former considerations which were restricted to the strange quark sector only.
