Formation of the non-martensitic α-Phase in Fe-33.0wt%Ni nanoparticies in sol-gel and reduction method and its promoting effect on martensitic transformation (MT) behaviors were investigated in this paper. With three different reduction processes, the amount of the formed non-martensitic α-Phase was characterized. Results also showed that the presence of non-martensitic α-Phase led to a promoted MT with the M_s temperature of 188.1K and transformation amount of 37.3%. Less amount of non-martensitic α-Phase result in austenite stabilization. The underlying mechanism of the formation of non-martensitic α-Phase and its effect on MT were discussed.
