1) The methane slip could be reduced by the optimization of the gas supply timing and pressure, and the minimization of the crevice volumes. 2) To improve the efficiency of the gas engine at the same NOx level, the advance of the ignition timing and low EQR were needed. Slower combustion made it possible within the knock & Pmax limitation. 3) The operation with the advanced pilot injection timing & minimum pilot fuel mass was the best for the high efficiency of the gas operation of the dual fuel engine. 4) The engine efficiency could be improved by the optimization of combustion systems. (Gas engine: Miller timing, Intake port, Pre-chamber, Piston bowl) (DF engine: Miller timing, Intake port, MP/Main injector, Piston bowl)
