ECBE model can provide real time on-line non-destructive assessment of the internal components in a Li Ion cell. Battery manufacturers can identify the weakest components that are most vulnerable to the excessive COV This method can also be incorporated into battery management system (BMS) and once a cell is in an unsafe situation as defined by the Re+Rct, a bypass of the cell can be initiated according to the new technology of reliability balancing developed recently by us so that a more advanced safety technology to ensure safe operation of the battery pack with enhanced system reliability can be possible.
