This work focuses on analyzing the efficiency of material derived from natural minerals in arsenic (III) and arsenic (V) removal from aqueous solution. The material used in the study (F7M) is an ion exchange adsorbent composed mainly of magnesium, iron, silica, calcium and aluminium (oxides or carbonates). The performance of the material was examined in batch adsorption system using model solutions. It was confirmed that the arsenite was more difficult to remove from water in comparison to the arsenate and the efficiency of the process depends on different operating parameters including contact time, material dose and solution pH.
