Games are usually associated with playing. However, games can also be used for educational purpose. Video games enable students to undertake tasks and acquire experience which would be impossible in the traditional classroom environment. Behaviourism and constructivism are two different educational paradigms for games used in education. Games for educational purpose can be general commercial recreational games and also can be serious games. But creating a good serious game for education is a large and difficult project; it is a practical way to adopt existing commercial games for educational purpose. As an example, the game Angry Birds is introduced into the physics classroom to teach projectile motion. Finally, some barriers such as the lack of theoretical research and development difficulties are discussed in the conclusion.
