The complex selectivity of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis mirrors the events of reaction on the catalyst surface, characterizing nature of active sites and intermediates. Working principles as frustrations and spatial constraints (referring to sites and intermediates) and unsteady regimes (self-organization and reassembling of the catalyst) can be traced.
