With the development of highway,the road transportation industry flourishes of heavy duty vehicles that heavy duty vehicles have higher gravity-centre,larger loads and relatively narrow tread in comparison with the car,therefore the stability of rollover threshold of heavy duty vehicles is lower and the rollover tends to occur.The purpose of this study is to research the stability of heady duty vehicles and two degrees of freedom reference model have been built to study active control The stability control algorithm of heavy duty vehicle is developed based on LQR controller that prevented instability accidents by differential braking.The actual vehicle model used in the software of TRUCKSIM and simulation results show that control algorithm can effectively improve the vehicle stability.
