Partial nitrification-anaerobic ammonium oxidation-nitrification coupled technology was used for removing nitrogen from coking wastewater. Through continuous optimization of the nitrogen removal technology, (NH_4)~+-N, (NO_2)~-N and NCV-N concentrations in the effluent stabilized at 0~3, 0~0.5 and 5~20 mg/L, COD<100 mg/L, the effluent quality could meet the primary standard of "Integrated wastewater discharge standard (GB8978-1996)". The removal efficiencies of NH4-N and COD reached up to 99.5% and 96.1% respectively. The novel technology performed well for treating coking wastewater, nitrogen and organic pollutants were simultaneously removed efficiently.
