摘要

This paper describes how Particle Impact Damping (PID), has been successfully applied to attenuate random vibration response in Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). Particle damping is a simple, compact and low cost solution with several inherent advantages over traditional mitigation methods. This paper is intended to inform the PCB design community of best-practices and design principles to prevent severe vibrations that damage circuit cards. By applying an effective PID design solution, PCB life and reliability can be significantly improved.
