61.1 Introduction Following a worldwide trend, in Brazil, the demographic data demonstrate an increase in the proportion of the number of elderly people in relation to the total population [1]. According to the Synthesis of Social Indicators of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), an increase was observed in the participation of the population aged 60 years or more in Brazil, rising from 5.9% in 2000 to 7.4% in 2010, and the population of the elderly represents a contingent of almost 15 million people in Brazil, representing 8.6% of the Brazilian population. At the same time, an increase of elderly users who use the Internet is observed. According to the 2016 demographic data, disclosed by IBGE, between 2008 and 2013, the percentage of elderly Internet users more than doubled. The Brazilian index of 60 year-olds or older with access to the network increased from 5.7% to 12.6%, corresponding to an increase of 121% [2].
