In this paper, we developed a simulation method of the tendon transfers based on the analysis of certain biomechanical properties as the isometric forces and the maximum joint moments associated to each transferred musculo-tendon unit. Based on a geometric model describing the musculo-skeletal of the hand and the forearm, taking into account the corresponding architectural parameters, we analyzed the effects of the tendon transfers intended for restoring the flexion of the index finger. A mechanical model based on the Zajac model was also included to take accounts the intrinsic properties for each musculo-tendon unit. The simulation method of the tendon transfers was described. The simulation results of three cases of transfers were presented and discussed. The simulated tendon transfers are related, in particular, to the transposition of the superficialis tendons of the others long fingers on the profundus flexor tendon of the index finger.
