The work describes the features of process of mine working with application of geowalkers, defines a number of tasks for determination of parameters of an external propulsor and proves their urgency. Over centuries development of underground space has been connected with mining operations and construction of underground facilities for various applications and it has always been based on the technology of mine working. The intensity of development of underground space by the countries of the world community including Russia is expected to rise significantly in the nearest future. The tasks of tunneling speed increase and reduction of mining cost have become of paramount importance. Today's shaft-sinking and tunneling systems and technologies used to drive mine workings do not answer the issue arising in connection with intensification of development of underground space. In studies [1-3] a new approach to the process of mine working is offered, which is based on a geowinchester technology (GWT) for driving mine working. The basic functional element of GWT is a geo-walker (fig. 1) with technical features offering a number of advantages over conventional tunneling systems such as versatility in relation to inclination angles of excavations to be made, mobility, specific quantity of metal and efficiency.
