Preventing violence and juvenile delinquency in Romanian and Spanish juvenile justice systems

Violence and juvenile delinquency are present in every society and a constructed process of preventing them is required in order to avoid the increase of their rates. The aim of this paper is to bring into attention a general presentation about the strategies of prevention used in six Romanian and Spanish communities for controlling these phenomena. Starting with a general presentation of prevention and its impact in the field of controlling children's crimes and violence, I made a comparative analysis of the prevention strategies used on the territory of some communities from Romania and Spain with the purpose of highlighting their positive aspects.According to recent research in this field I consider the debate of this issue a very important one in order to highlight the role of prevention strategies in controlling juvenile's crimes and violence. The conclusions of this paper stress that the strategies used in order to prevent violence and juvenile delinquency in the communities studied, can be improved with the help of a policy transfer focused on the effective aspects.
