Optimization of Formula for Fabricating Acetylated Corn Starch Films

In this work acetylated corn starch was taken as the raw material and its filming property was studied through single-factor and orthogonal array design experiments. The results show that different concentrations of acetylated corn starch, glycerol, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and glutaraldehyde had significant effects on the properties of the acetylated corn starch/PVA films. The optimum film-forming formula was 4.5% acetylated corn starch, 4.5% PVA, 4.0% glycerol and 0.4% glutaraldehyde, among which the most important factor was glycerol concentration, and sequentially followed by acetylated corn starch concentration, PVA concentration and the glutaraldehyde concentration.
