LCP BREF for the Power Sector: Suppliers Point of View and resulting solutions(PPT)

1. The new BREF reduces emissions for nearly all emissions considered in the old IED at a rate of 50 percent and less 2. New emission classes considered (Hg, HCl, HF, NH3) 3. Reduction of emission cannot be achieved with a single action 4. For “New build” coal & lignite fired plant considerable increase of investment necessary 5. Upgrade of existing plants possible 6. BREF demands high efforts for owner/investor as well as for the supplier 7. Strict emission limits are challenging but manageable 8. Challenges and solutions for lignite fired power plant complying with BREF are shown on the example new build Turow 11/Poland
