There is a whole range of heat exchange systems in Be?chatów Power Plant. Their purpose is to recover heat from raw flue gas and to heat cleaned flue gas. Thanks to long-term operation between 1991 and 2015, broad experience has been gained about the defects and failures that can occur in heat exchange systems as well as their other operational problems. As a result of technical progress and the development of new technologies for heat recovery, flue gas heating systems have been changed and modified. Currently, all flue gas desulphurisation systems of 13 power units with the total installed capacity of 5452 MW include heat exchangers of different purposes, structural designs and materials. The designs of heat exchange systems applied in the Be?chatów Power Plant are unique in the world.
