Low NOx Burner Development for an Evolving Fuel Diet

Doosan Babcock has recently completed the retrofit of thirty 81 MW_(th) burners to a 760MW_e supercritical unit in the USA, where the fuel supply is formed predominantly of high sulphur Eastern bituminous coals of a type known to cause operational problems, particularly when in pursuit of low NOx levels.
