The efficiency of pyrite flotation from an auriferous pyrite ore is evaluated with respect to particle size based on liberation-limited grade/recovery curves as determined by high resolution X-ray micro tomography (HRXMT) for particle sizes which range from 25 to 2000 μm in diameter. Issues such as sampling statistics and reproduc-ibility of the HRXMT analysis are discussed. In addition, the consistency of the HRXMT analysis with chemical analysis is demonstrated.
