Kraft Lignin-induced production of ligninolytic enzymes from Boreal Forest Wood-decay fungi and their potential in lignin demethylation (PPT)

Demethylation of kraft lignin by ligninolytic enzymes was demonstrated. O-methyl groups on benzyl rings comprising lignin were removed making it more phenolic in nature. Further studies: Purify the enzyme and characterise properties. Apply enzyme to modify Ugnin on large scale. Assess characteristics of lignin - formaldehyde polymer.
