In response to the global need for low global warming potential (GWP) and sustainable blowing agents,the Chemours Company has developed and commercialized Opteon~TM 1100 and Opteon~TM 1150.These hydrofluoroolefins (HFO) demonstrate a wide range of attributes to spray polyurethane foam and construction insulation products.Spray foams are often installed throughout the year and in many regions,low winter temperatures present a challenge to installing spray foams.Many manufacturers specify a minimum substrate temperature to avoid installation issues which may include:reduced reactivity and dripping,reduced foam expansion and loss of yield,friability,adhesion failure and stud line cracking.In this publication we will demonstrate how Opteon~TM 1100 and Opteon~TM 1150 can be leveraged to provide superior low temperature processing latitude in next generation polyurethane foam products.
