Organic polymers with useful materials properties have been under constant pursuit for many decades, since the groundbreaking discovery of the high electric conductivity of doped polyacetylene. Organic π-conjugated polymers are well-known as semiconductors and are important materials in electronic and photonic devices. A wide range of applications spreading from polymeric light-emitting diodes, plastic lasers, polymers-based photovoltaic cells are envisioned or already realized.2 Among the semiconducting organic polymers such as polyenes, polydiacetylenes and polytriacetylenes, polyynes remain the most synthetically challenging and difficult to study.~3
