Here we have demonstrated the ability to synthesize pH responsive carriers that significantly improved the IFNa permeability in vitro. Further investigation of the biophysical mechanisms that are leading to the increase in bioavailability is currently underway. Ultimately, these carriers will allow for toxic chemotherapeutic agents to be efficiently delivered orally, therefore eliminating the need to systemic IV administration.
