The grid in lead-acid batteries has a dual task. It serves as support for the active mass and conducts the electricity. For their production to use in advanced batteries, many different alloys are used. The type of applied alloy affects the battery performance very significantly. In this work the impact of the grid alloy on the battery electrical properties was investigated. Laboratory performed capacity and cold crank CCA tests. Cyclic resistance, corrosion and mechanical tests are in progress. After conducting those tests and post-mortem studies the results can be used to determine the usefulness of the newly used alloys for the production process of the grid.
