摘要

Mathematical analysis of blast furnace processes has been tried at first by applying thermodynamics and then by kinetic and dynamic theory. Dissection analyses of industrial blast furnaces showed clearly non-uniform distribution of process variables, specifically existence of cohesive zone, which led to the development of multi-dimensional models. Continuum modeling has almost completed considering momentum, heat and mass transfer for reacting multi phase flow of gas, solids, liquids and fines.
