摘要

Infant-directed speech (IDS) is important for human caregiver-infant interactions and may have evolutionary roots (Falk, 2004). However, few studies have examined the neural substrates underlying processing IDS in human neonates. We examined cerebral responses of full-term human neonates to prosodic modifications in infant-directed speech (IDS) by direct comparison with adult-directed speech (ADS). Generally, IDS is higher in pitch and has a wider pitch range than ADS.
