Setting a good standard for asset management

摘要

Momentum has been building in international recognition of what good asset management involves. This paper combines a review of the emerging experiences around the world with a summary of what is coming around the corner -the ISO 55000 standard for asset management. It focuses particularly on the practical challenges and opportunities for greater integration between operations (exploiting the assets) and maintenance (looking after them) to deliver higher levels of asset performance, reliability and sustainability. Case studies and implementation stories will include experiences from Asia, Europe, North and South America and Africa, covering a wide range of asset types, industry sectors and organisational environments. These examples show what is needed to turn good intentions into good habits, and to demonstrate tangible, quantified benefits.
