Dynamical systems composed of a large number of units typically involve some kind of heterogeneity. Here we are concerned with heterogeneity due to the distribution of a bifurcation parameter which controls the behavior of each dynamical unit and consider what happens when the distribution changes because of deterioration of those units due to aging, for example. Our studies done so far in this direction are briefly reviewed.
