@@ Cochliobolus heterostrophus is causal agent of southern corn leaf blight. This ascogenous fungus has very efficient recombination ability between exotic DNA and target genomic sequences, which facilitates functional analysis of the specific gene. Due to its tractability in classical and molecular genetics, C. heterostrophus has been used as a model fungus in plant protection sciences. We used this fungus to study the mode of action of dicarboximide/ phenylpyrrole fungicides. In C. heterostrophus, three loci (Dic1, Dic2 and Dic3) which confer highosmolarity adaptation and those fungicide sensitivity have been identified in Mendelian genetic analyses.
