@@ Japanese positive list system for pesticide residues in food has been enforced since 2006. All pesticide residues in food including processed food products are regulated by this system except unlisted compounds. Additionally, agricultural, stock farm, and marine products can be eaten in the raw, they are usually cooked or processed for eating. Accordingly, it is important to determine actual residue levels of pesticides in not only raw food products but also cooked and processed foods and to provide information available for precise estimation of pesticide residue intakes through foodstuff. The precise estimation of pesticide residue intakes through foodstuffs would be helpful to set the maximum residue levels (MRLs) for pesticides in agricultural products at harvest and also for monitoring the residue levels in those products on marketing. Residue analysis of pesticides in food is essential.
