Water Injection Pumps (WIPs) are essential to oil production, it injects water back into the reservoir to increase pressure and thereby stimulate production. The high pressure, high flow WIPs are big consumer of energy and if they are driven by Gas Turbines (GTs) the exhaust gases gives a lot of opportunity for energy integration. In this paper, Water Injection Pumps (WIPs) driven by Gas Turbines (GTs) using sweet gas as fuel is investigated for best option for waste heat recovery. We demonstrated that the proper utilization of waste heat with the available technology can lead to efficient WIPs system design that results in energy saving and energy based GHG emission reductions. Several technologies available today can retrofit old systems and design new expansions effectively to increase the overall system efficiency.
