The milestone of the bis(arylimino)pyridylmetal (Fe or Co) dihalides1 as highly active pre-catalysts in ethylene polymerization initiated the explosive studies of the catalytic behavior of their complex analogs,the catalytic intermediates or active species,and reaction mechanisms.The progress has been well illustrated in a numerous review articles.2 Our group have exerted on the developing the efficient new tridentate iron complexes and achieved good results,in which ligands included such as 2-imino-1,10-phenanthrolines,2-(benzimidazol-2-yl)-1,10-phenanthrolines,2-(benzimidazol-2-yl)-6-iminopyridines,2-(benzoxazol-2-yl)-6-iminopyridines,2-quinoxalinyl-6-iminopyridines,2-(benzothiazol-2-yl)-6-iminopyridines,2-(pyrid-2-yl)-6-iminopyridines,imino-quinolines,and 2,8-bis(imino)quinolines.
