As for the turbulent two-phase flow in the non-circular duct, the flow could show an anisotropic turbulence feature in liquid phase because of the existence of a transverse circulatory flow named a second-kind of secondary flow. In this study, a bubbly upward turbulent flow in a large square duct has been conducted. As the preliminary measurement, an axial mean velocity of liquid single-phase flow was measured by a Pitot tube at a cross-sectional average velocity of 0.4 m/s. Its isotach was distorted towards the corner of the duct. In addition, the local void fraction distribution was measured by the optical probe system. The result showed a tendency to have a peak at the corner of the duct.
