Analysis of Yaitai City's Sustainable Economic Development Capacity based on City Material Property

With rapid economic development in recent years, Yantai city's comprehensive strength has been significantly enhanced. Meanwhile, such problems as environmental and ecological protection has become increasingly prominent, which forms barriers preventing it from further growth in long run. The sustainable economic development vigor of Yantai has a strong practical significance. By building an evaluation index system with no quantitative treatment of data, this paper obtains economic development index of Yantai including social development, resource development, environmental development and comprehensive economic development index, and accompanied by analysis of its sustainable development. Finally, the author points out problems of economic development of Yantai, and puts forward related measures. Sustainable development is required to not only meet the needs of contemporary people, but not constitute a hazard for future generations to meet their needs. And sustainable urban development is a process of changing the number of cities, quality and size from small to big, from lower to higher, from uncoordinated to coordinated, from non-sustainable to sustainable condition [1]. Competition among modern states actually refers to sustainable development capacity of competition. A country in pursuit of development and modernization of the city still adheres to four principles involving society, economy and environment and resources. The basic idea of sustainable development is both to encourage economic growth, and to protect ecological environment for the ultimate realization of social progress, that is, the development of human society must maintain economy, society, environment and resources to achieve synchronous development. With rapid development of modern economy, many social, environmental and ecological issues emerge in endlessly. Sustainable development of economy becomes very important. The realization of sustainable economic development of Yantai is of great practical significance not only for sustainable economic development of coastal cities, but also for the economic development of Shandong. This paper constructs a sustainable development evaluation model of Yaitai, and analyze its sustainable development status, changes of evaluation index, followed by the problems occurred there by, and suggests feasible measures to achieve economic, social, environmental and resource sustainable development.
