Real-time Calculation for the Penetration Trajectory of Missile Based on Tri-axial Accelerometers

To solve the real time calculation problem that the trajectory of projectile will suffer from serious deflections when the missile penetrates into multilayer target plates consisting of vertical walls, we proposed a new method by applying two tri-axis accelerometers to acquire deflections of the projectile penetration angle and calculate the trajectory in the penetration. Based on the conventional formulas in the plane for calculating penetration depth for the penetration into the multilayer target, we concluded the real time calculation formulas for the trajectory of missile with two installed tri -axis accelerometers in the penetration, and performed finite element analysis for simulating the process of penetration using ABAQUS, and applied the acceleration data obtained from the simulation to calculate the penetration angle and traj ectory. Finally, applied algorithm developed in MATLAB to analyze the two group acceleration data of the two sets of accelerometers obtained from the simulation to verify the effectiveness of proposed algorithm.
