Variable Gain Control Based on Digital Potentiometer in Fuze Test

There are a variety of test item s in electronic fuze test, and the voltage range of the target signals is 20mV to 15V, which makes it difficult for the analogto-digital conversion(A/D) module to match the standard accuracy and flexibility that required in the test system. To solve this problem, automatic gain control(AGC) method was proposed into fuze test in this paper. During this process, a signal conditioning module was designed between the target signals and the A/D module, which achieved both the amplification of tiny signals and the reduction of outrange signals. Based on the analysis of test requirements, we chose to use a micro controller, operational amplifiers(op amp) and digital potentiometers to realize AGC. Simulation results indicated that the design could make a corresponding judgment according to the output signal amplitude, amplify or reduce the target signal to the A/D module range. In this method, the test system could make full use of the signal range with a high resolution, which has a guiding significance for measuring and testing technology and theory.
