In spite of the past and present instances of environmental impact on both natural and man-made World Heritage Sites, the issue of eliminating the dangerous relationships between human actions and several natural hazards is not getting the deserved attention. Amid this backdrop this study investigates the possibility of minimising environmental Impact on World Heritage Sites by exploiting green energy through exploring the nuances of green energy and a case study of the Edinburgh World Heritage Site, which is running a pilot project on incorporating green energy in the site. Accordingly, the findings of the study leads to the inferences that balancing the principles of sustaining heritage architecture/place with the installation procedures of green energy systems can make such projects providing long-term benefits.
