The economic benefits of weaving production are mainly reflected in the yield of loom, whereas the loom weaving efficiency is the main decisive factor of high yield. In the production of air-jet loom weaving production, fault shutdown is the major factor impacting the weaving efficiency. Therefore, this paper carries out analysis on the quality of yam of air-jet loom in actual production and discusses the impact of weft quality on fault shutdown of air-jet loom, so as to provide basis for the improvement of loom weaving efficiency, giving full play to the efficient weaving of air-jet loom and generating better economic benefits. The study shows that: yam quality is the major factor influencing air-jet loom weaving efficiency, and the impact of weft quality is greater than that of warp; hence, weft quality improvement is the main way to improve air-jet loom weaving efficiency. Air-jet loom enjoys rapid development because of its feature of "four highs and one excellence", namely, high speed, high yield, high efficiency, high automation and excellent quality. However, compared with its high-performance characteristics, the weaving efficiency of air-jet loom is far short of the expected benefits. Thus, at the same time of air-jet loom development, the problem of how to improve its weaving efficiency and achieve the purpose of efficient weaving should be firstly addressed. As the economic benefits of weaving production is mainly reflected in the yield of loom, the loom weaving speed and efficiency are two main decisive factors of high yield. High-speed loom is the basis for enterprises to improve economic benefits, whereas it is not necessarily able to achieve high benefits, because benefits are also subject to the impact of weaving efficiency. The loom warp and weft fault shutdown is a key factor impacting weaving efficiency. For high-speed, highly automated air-jet looms, the impact of weft fault shutdown is particularly outstanding. Only through reducing the weft fault shutdown, the air-jet loom weaving efficiency can be improved, thereby truly achieve high production efficiency. Therefore, by the test method, this paper analyses the loom yarn quality, and discusses the impact of weft quality on fault shutdown of air-jet loom, so as to provide basis for giving full play to the efficient weaving of air-jet loom and generating better economic benefits.
