At present, for the earlier researches navigation regulation projects in large estuaries in China, physical model tests are usually employed to solve some key technical problems about hydrodynamics and bed erosion and deposition. By analyzing the measurement and control system of physical model for the estuarine reach of Changjiang River based on communication, frequency conversion techniques, etc., the building characteristics of platforms for tide generating system and tide level and flow field measuring system and the development of the measurement and control techniques under digital conditions are discussed. It may provide reliable and information-based numerical data with high precision. It may improve the general level of model tests.
