摘要

The performance of metallic coated wire exposed to marine atmospheric conditions is influenced by its capture efficiency for aerosols. A number of metallic coatings of varying thickness are applied to wire products. This paper will present results obtained for fabricated wire products after 8 to 10 years of exposure in marine and severe marine conditions. The influence of coating integrity and coating type is discussed in the light of experimental results obtained in laboratory and outdoor exposure conditions. The superiority of zinc aluminium coatings over galvanized coatings already established in the literature is confirmed and the improved results obtained by in line metallic coatings over thicker galvanized coatings demonstrated.
