We have been fabricating Gd1Ba2Cu3O_x (GdBCO) coated conductors on clad-type textured metal substrates by using PLD for HTS power cables. In this project, high Ic and homogeneous characteristics of GdBCO tapes are required for fabricating a 66 kV-5 kA class, 3-in-One HTS model cable system. In order to produce this HTS cable, it is important for the conductor to establish stable and high-throughput manufacturing process. Therefore, we have newly installed a 300 W laser equipment and introduced electron beam (EB) evaporation method for buffer layer to optimize surface morphology. As a result, the maximum I_c for a short sample achieved 500 A/cm level at 77 K. In combination with this improved process, long length GdBCO tapes with high I_c properties have been successfully fabricated.
